Get Instant Rebates with QuickSilver® ‘Enhance Your Performance’ Promotion

We’re pleased to announce the ‘2015 QuickSilver Enhance Your Performance Promotion’! This spring, turf professionals can receive a $15 per bottle instant rebate on QuickSilver® herbicide. Don’t hesitate to buy product as the promotion runs from April 15 through June 15, 2015. “Good things happen when QuickSilver is in the mix, so we want to encourage turf managers to use QuickSilver during the critical spring use-season,” said Jay Young, herbicide brand manager for FMC. “Lawn care operators find that adding QuickSilver to their postemergence spray programs broadens their spectrum of weed control and reduces call backs.” Extensive field trials have shown that adding QuickSilver herbicide to postemergence broadleaf herbicide tank mixes speeds up weed control with visible results within 24 hours. A contact herbicide, QuickSilver is gentle on a variety of grasses, including bermudagrass and St. Augustinegrass, even in newly seeded, sodded or sprigged areas. Unlike other products which are significantly impacted by temperatures, QuickSilver is effective in both cool and warm conditions. Cutting Down on Cutworm Damage

Cutworm control has been an issue for Jackson Reiswig the entire four years he’s been golf course superintendent at Coral Creek Club in Placida, Fla. A very upscale private club on Florida’s central Gulf Coast, Coral Creek features pure TifEagle bermudagrass greens and 419 bermudagrass tees, fairways and roughs. With just over 200 members, Coral Creek Club closes from early July through September during the blazing hot summer days. That’s when Reiswig handles construction projects, aggressive cultural practices and dealing with insect pressures. “Our membership demands excellent conditions during the nine months we are open — and we do our best to exceed them, daily,” says Reiswig, an Idaho native who came to the club in Southwest Florida after attending Lake City Community College. “I’m always looking for a better solution to agronomic problems that sometimes crop up, like cutworms.” Because they feed close to the base of the turf plant — or even under soil level, cutworms will cut turf plants off at the stem, if left uncontrolled. Reiswig has tried many different treatments through the years, but was happy to discover Triple Crown® Golf insecticide last year. Triple Crown combines fast knockdown, lasting residual and broad-spectrum pest control with multiple modes of action. By eliminating the need to tank mix several products to control above- and below-ground pests, Triple Crown helps save time, money and shelf space. It controls more than 30 pests, including chinch bugs, annual bluegrass weevils, billbugs, ants, fire ants, and more. “Triple Crown has been a fantastic product,” he explains.  “I used it originally for cutworm control and got excellent results right away....
